Originally starting out as a flash games portal during the early years of his secondary education, Kascadia was launched in 2003 and became his first self built web project. It quickly gained popularity across his home town of Plymouth by providing access to online games in schools, where other popular sites were unavailable.
The site grew further attracting thousands of hits every day, until it was blocked nearly a year later by schools across the district. At this point the direction of Kascadia was reformed; and as with James, matured to become a platform and portfolio for his design work and ideas.
During 2009, the identity was rebranded to Kascadia Media to provide a clearer impression of the services and solutions on offer. All client work is designed and managed by James himself, with additional project management services provided to external designers under the Kascadia Media brand and platform.
James is currently studying at Bournemouth University’s Media School, where he is undertaking a degree in Interactive Media production. James believes this course will help to further his understanding of the media environment and challenges faced within a practical based setting.
